The Mercedes-Benz SLR SLR McLaren
Mercedes-Benz and Formula 1 partner McLaren have decided to manufacture a new supercar in 2003 to showcase their collective experience in the development, construction and production of high-performance sports cars and, just like its legendary 300 SLR predecessor of 1955, it incorporated technological developments that were ahead of their time.
Speaking of developments, the heart of the car, its engine, is truly outstanding on the SLR McLaren. Produced at Mercedes-Benz’s AMG performance division, it is a 5.5-litre, 24-valve, supercharged V8 producing 617bhp, making it one of the most powerful engines ever found in a series-produced road-going sports car. The SLR McLaren delivers performance figures that are still among the best in its class; taking just 3.8 seconds to sprint from 0 to 100km/h, it passes the 200km/h mark after 10.6 seconds and from a standing start takes just 28.8 seconds to reach 300km/h. The two-seater has a top speed of 334km/h.
SLR’s carbon fibre composite monocoque body/chassis structure was produced in the latter’s then all-new facility in Woking, England. Clearly showing its Formula 1 parentage, the suspension is by means of double wishbones all round.

This exquisitely presented example was ordered and delivered new to former Italian legend Alessandro Del Piero. Finished in the timeless colour combination of Crystal Laurite Silver SLR over Silver Arrow 300 SL red leather to the interior, it is here presented in mint condition throughout, showing just under 6.600 KM from new.
In addition, the car is accompanied with a comprehensive number of service records throughout its life showing that it has always been properly maintained. More recently, WDD1993761M000391 has gone through a major EUR 26.000,- service at Mercedes-Benz and is now ready for immediate enjoyment.
Boasting a great provenance and documented service history, it is very rare to find such an original example which would be a great addition to any collection of modern supercars.
